Who

I'm a Christ-follower, Husband, Daddy, and Pastor. I live in Parker City, Indiana with my wife and daughter and I have the privilege of serving the fine folks at Farmland Friends Church in Farmland, Indiana. My passion is seeing lives changed by the power of God. I fully believe that kind of change is good for you!... Kris Sorensen

Why

This blog is meant to introduce you to me: an ordinary guy called by God to be a Pastor. I have one agenda, I want you to get to know me better. Some of what you will find on this blog will be serious, some things will be funny, but all of it will give you a better idea of who I am.

Making Plans

On December 7th Pastor Pink and I will be flying to California to start laying some very important ground work for the church plant. We have in mind to meet with individuals interested in being part of a new church, meet with some church leaders in the area, look at potential meeting places, meet with a realtor, etc...

At times my head is swimming with all of the details that go into this church plant. There are numerous logistical issues, details about theology & philosophy of ministry, connections with people that need to be made, launch plan strategies, constitutions & bylaws to be written, and on and on. After I get done hyperventilating, I remember that I just need to take this one day at a time, having the faith that God will guide our steps along the way.

So many of the folks at The Branches @ Farmland have been very supportive and encouraging, and that has meant a lot to my family. Could I ask you to quickly say a prayer for this venture that God has laid on our hearts? Pray that God would prepare the "spiritual soil" of Escondido, CA. as we plant a church that leads people to Jesus Christ. Please pray that we find favor as we meet with individuals to seek financial and prayer support. Please pray that all the families that "put their hand to the plow" would not look back and that lives will be forever changed.

Thank you for praying.

Praying for all of you daily. It is so awesome what God is doing in your life and in others, some of which you haven't even met yet.

Vicki-You truly live what God has said in his word--I am so proud of you and the others. I pray daily for your vision and that God blesses you in each step. My heart breaks at the thought of you not being our pastor as you have done more for Jack and I than I can ever say. So let me just say THANK YOU!!!

    Kris,

Way cool! I was just out there about 4 weeks ago doing the National Outreach Conference, (Check out a book by Bill Easum about Church Planting, some really good stuff!) touring Saddleback, checking out Yorba Linda Friends, and some other really cool Churches. Really exciting news, and we'll be praying for you guys. I'm a bit sad that I won't be able to joke around with you and James as much at Pastor's Short Course, but I'm sure we can catch up thru the intertubes. Sounds like you guys have been praying about this for some time, so I would add my best wishes and my advice of listen to what the Lord's telling you, which I know that's what you're being obedient to.

P.S. I would've put in for the bowflex, but I'm kinda curious what else you're selling for 25 dollars... maybe a flatscreen?

Keeping the Sorensons and the Pinkertons in our Prayers,

    Pastor Dwight
